The Void(also known as: The Grief, The Sludge, The Dark, The Black, The Fog or The Corruption) refers to masses of black blocks(alt+219 "█") which cover large amounts of area. Void can be art, spam, or both at the same time.

Void Incursions occur when a large portion of spawn(~5 coordinates in all directions) is covered by Void. Incursions tend to be script generated and last for at least 5 days. Below are the known instances of incursions:

First Void Incursion

The First Void Incursion appeared around May 1st, 2022, and was created by Kubex300 roughly one week after his mass deletion of spawn.

Over the next month, the Void would expand at a slow but steady pace, eventually growing to cover hundreds of coordinates of text.

During this period the black blocks would consistently cover the entirety of spawn, attempts were made (by hand and through bots) to remove them, however the void always prevailed in the end.

The Void ended around (-)70x and (-)140y at its peak.

Around May 21st, 2022, another bot was made to remove the Void, this one far more successful than its predecessors. Over the next week or so, hundreds of coordinates of Void would be erased.

Around May 27th, 2022, all text covered by the Void were restored by an admin.

As of June 9th, 2022, black blocks are still being pasted onto spawn. However, they no longer cause any significant damage, as any text covered by them are quickly restored by another bot.

Behavior

The First Void expands in a manner similar to Kubex300's griefing of spawn, albeit much slower.

Large amounts of lag would be caused by the Void's expansion.

The Third Source

The Third Source, or the No Church, was a city created by ~noman on -58x 125y, formerly the northwestern corner of the First Void.

Third Source

It is connected to the No Tower which extends up to -58x, 1123y. The Third Source is a successor to the Second Source, which was destroyed by the Void.

On May 17th, 2022, the Void expanded, swallowing up the Third Source.

James Army

The James Army was created by James in order to combat the Void.

The message: "Join James!! Fight the fog!!" would be written along with several ASCII tanks and planes.

QR Codes

During the expansion of the Void, QR Codes would periodically be pasted at spawn. Some were said to be rickrolls, while others led to watchdominion.org.

Various codes in hexadecimal, octal, and braille were also pasted.

Second Void Incursion

The Grid

The Second Void Incursion was presaged by the appearance of a massive black grid, which appeared on January 24th, 2023.

The grid expanded slowly over the next few days. It was attacked, but every time it was able to regrow the parts destroyed.

The Void Returns

On February 1st, 2023, parts of the grid were filled in with black blocks, marking the start of a Second Void Incursion.

Void 1-12th

Second Void Destruction

After the Rift opened on February 10th 2023, most of the Void was destroyed due to the rifts. The rest of the surviving Void was destroyed around February 12th, 2023.

Peaceful Voids

It must be noted that Voids have been created in the past without the intention of griefing or spamming and seemed to support full block art and even cities. An area with the same name above spawn was created on January, preceding the First Void Incursion by 4 months.

Void City

Void City

Void City was created by user LiquidVicinity on August 23rd, 2023. Despite repeated griefings after its creation, a new version of Void City was able to be constructed at an unknown location.
