Mr. Black
Mr. Black is a user who supposedly found the site in 2010, though they did not become active until late 2024. Since then they have established a short-lived, albeit memorable, reputation as a griefer, troll, artist and scripter.
On July 8th, 2024, Mr. Black appeared at spawn where they claimed to be a griefer. What damage they did was minimal, however, and they griefed manually instead of using scripts. During this period they were a largely benign presence, engaging in friendly conversations with various users(Ex. Chenn) and even making art.
In August of 2024, Mr. Black became acquainted with a returning user named TonyTechnic. Though they got along well at first, Mr. Black soon grew to despise Tony and began slandering him with escalating levels of scorn; it was such that by early September Tony had left the site in order to escape harassment.
It was also in August that Black began to show their prowess as a scripter. They began by conducting periodic wipes of spawn, becoming a legitimate griefer in the process. Afterwards they would paste massive pictures over the newly emptied space, the images in question ranging from innocent cartoon characters to uncensored porn. Despite their crude actions however Mr. Black was still a friendly figure overall(towards everyone except for Tony, whom they treated with vitriolic contempt).
A user named Yosicat was among the first to notice Mr. Black's programming capabilities. On one occasion he reported seeing Black write inside an owner-only tile on his subworld, while in another instance Mr. Black told him that they were working on a script to track all edits across the entire Mainpage.
In the end it is unknown how much of a threat Mr. Black posed, though many were worried by their activities. Yosicat once stated that he places Black alongside Korieum and Kubex in terms of destructive potential. Luckily nothing much came about as a result of Mr. Black's time on the site. In one conversation they stated that they'd limit their griefing to a small radius around Spam Central, saying that they didn't care about the site as a whole.
At the same time Mr. Black also engaged in a series of artistic endeavors. Throughout the month of August Mr. Black would create a variety of structures using 3D replicas of the Spawn Box. In addition to this they also deployed several moving text objects with relatively complex animations.
Meanwhile in Our World of Text, Mr. Black leveraged the site's high rate limit to create an assortment of innovative scripts. Black's OWOT activity ranged from creating a water simulator to animating Bad Apple in the center console.
The name Mr. Black has not been seen since September 2024, but TonyTechnic believes that they are still operating as the user {plotonnn}. {plotonnn}, on the other hand, has vehemently denied being Mr. Black. Their main evidence was that they were too young to have used the site in 2010.
Relation With Other Users[edit | edit source]

Mr. Black is known to be very vocal about their opinions on other users.
Though they have a tendency to describe others through crude rhetoric, it is important to note that Black really means well and is an agreeable fella overall.
Except towards Tony. Black actually hates him.

Mr. Black has historically got along well with Chenn and has talked to him on numerous occasions.
Black has said that Chenn "thinks he's important and tags his name everywhere" but that he is also "pretty good at ASCII art."

Though they weren't active at the same time, Mr. Black learned about Maticalman and his feud with Chenn.
Upon discovering this, Black vowed to become a griefer so that he may replace Matical as Chenn's nemesis.
{plotonnn}[edit | edit source]
Mr. Black reportedly told TonyTechnic that he and {plotonnn} were the same person, however no screenshots of this exchange exists and it's possible that Tony was mistaken somehow.
Mr. Black once described {plotonnn} as "some kid who puts his name on every little ascii art he draws, which is usually a triangle then he pats himself on the back thinking he's one of the best ASCII artists around." This refers to the YWOT Attic, a regular trademark of {plotonnn} which features a triangular attic above the Spawn Box.
Yosicat[edit | edit source]
Yosicat, in addition to Chenn, was probably the user who got along the best with Mr. Black.
It was such that Black expressed their frustration when Yosicat left YWOT to attend college.
On one occasion Mr. Black noted that Yosicat "draws like a retard on crack."

TonyTechnic[edit | edit source]
Mr. Black is known for his vitriolic hatred of TonyTechnic.
In addition to writing lengthy, slanderous posts, Black would also paste Tony's messages at Spawn in order to mock him.
It is unknown how this beef came about, as Mr. Black was initially friendly with Tony. There was an interaction early on where Black and Yosicat impersonated Tony as a joke.

MCL was possibly the inspiration for one of Black's Moving Text Objects, which was a moth that crawled around spawn.

Car[edit | edit source]
Another version of the Moving Car was also deployed in OWOT, where it moved significantly faster due to the site's high rate limit.
The car was running alongside as and would often pass over MCL's OWOT-YWOT Bridge, causing it to appear on the YWOT end of the portal.
The OWOT car was initially made out of braille but Mr. Black soon updated it to an unicode model.

Livestreaming[edit | edit source]
On September 5th, 2024, Mr. Black came up with a way to broadcast their monitor to the Center Console.
Black first tested this by playing Street Fighters gameplay using unicodes, but the frame rate was so slow that a few users mistook it for a simulation of Conway's Game of Life.
By September 8th Mr. Black had figured out a way to livestream their monitor at real time.
Pac Man[edit | edit source]
On September 23rd, 2024, Mr. Black began running a simulated game of Pac Man in the Center Console.
Unicode Pac Men would move randomly across the page, eating normal text while avoiding any instance of the "█" character. "█"(U+219) was used to constrain the Pac Men to the Center Console, though they had the capacity to escape if the barrier was deleted.
Ghosts(👻) moved in roughly the same manner and would delete any Pac Men they ran into. And as in the original game, ghosts turned blue(🥶) whenever a Pac Man eats a power pellet.
There was no specialized ending screen for this game and the level would simply reset upon completion. Due to the random movement of the characters, there was not a single instance where the Pac Men were able to devour all the dots within the level.
At one point there was a feature where the Pac Men would duplicate whenever they ate a cherry(🍒). Users soon found a way to exploit this by pasting large amounts of cherries onto the level, generating an ungodly swarm of hungry Pac Men which could then be unleashed onto the rest of the Mainpage. Logically, it wasn't long before Mr. Black disabled this feature, worrying that having large numbers of Pac Men running at once would strain the OWOT server.
Water Simulator[edit | edit source]
On September 24th, Mr. Black began running a water simulator within the Center Console. The water was composed of unicodes blocks whose movement was controlled by Black.
The fluid was initially monochrome, but was then given color and shading as Black improved the script. A variety of colors were used throughout the simulation, ranging from blue to green to a dark, bloody red.
After a while Mr. Black started to experiment with having a surfer(🏄) float along the water's surface, bouncing up and down with the fluid's movement. Initially the surfer would move left and right in a fixed pattern, but by September 25th it was able to dynamically move around the Center Console.
On at least a few occasions the surfer would be catapulted above the Console, at which point it would leave behind a trail of afterimages as the script did not delete characters past a certain range.
Mr. Black would use a number of other emojis in place of the surfer, such as a duck(🦆), a whale(🐳) and a boat(🛥️).
The water simulator, which eventually received the name Mr Black's WaterPark, was enjoyed fondly by the OWOT community. One user even made a music video by syncing the water's movement to Brazilian Phonk.
