Among us virus
The AMOGUS Virus was a script that activated periodically from October 13th to October 25th, 2021.
While the virus was in effect, any edit would immediately be spammed over by a block such as the one seen below:
OASGM UOASGM UOA MA SUGOMA SUGOMA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AMOGUS AMOGUS AM SAOU MGSAOU MGSA GAUSMO GAUSMO GA OASGM UOASGM UOA
This applied to the entirety of the mainpage. Users traveling thousands of coordinates away from Spawn have seen their edits replaced by AMOGUS blocks.
Creation[edit | edit source]
Kmccord1 has stated that the script was originally only meant to make a few times unusable, but claims that due to an error in the script, and the script "turning itself back on" that it made the entire website unusable. Due to bots being able to see edits anywhere on the site, it is theorized that whenever anyone sent an edit (changing a tile) the bot would receive that and send an edit to change the tile to the among us virus tile.
Public Reaction[edit | edit source]
The AMOGUS Virus was particularly disruptive, as users could no longer edit the Mainpage without their text being replaced by spam, often destroying surrounding structures in the process. This applied even to users who were far away from the center while the Virus was in effect.

Aftermath[edit | edit source]
The last major AMOGUS incursion was on October 23rd, 2021. The last known sighting of an AMOGUS block would be 13 days later, on November 5th.
All text destroyed by the blocks have been restored within a sizable radius of Spawn, but to this day you can still find traces of the Virus in more distant parts of the Mainpage.
AMOGUS Art[edit | edit source]
The AMOGUS Virus was unique in that it effectively prohibited users from making normal edits to the Mainpage.
Despite this, many users soon took advantage of the virus by drawing messages and art using the AMOGUS blocks. A collection of these creations can be seen below.
