ASG
ASG, or Anti Spam Group, was a popular faction of YWOT users dedicated to fighting spam. They were active from 20?? to 20??, when spam was especially widespread due to an abundance of scripts and fewer in-site protections. ASG would distribute erase scripts amongst its members so that they could blank out spam en masse.
The Anti Spam Group was a controversial presence not only among spammers but also with the userbase as a whole. Many believed that their efforts only encouraged more spam, while others argued that it is wrong to enforce any rules on an otherwise anarchic website.
The leader of ASG was a user known as Dzeni, who has since become an admin on Our World of Text on account of being friends with the site's founders.
