Kiki[edit | edit source]
Kiki is perhaps the most talented ASCII artists to have appeared on YWOT in recent years. In early 2022 they would frequently produce high quality drawings at Spam Central.
Though they have been mostly inactive since 2022, Kiki is still present on OWOT(and possibly YWOT) as a lurker.
Gallery[edit | edit source]
*A few of these might not actually have been from Kiki, for the most part I just included every high quality drawing from that period.
All but a few were created at Spawn from February to April of 2022.
Some of the images below are sourced from Kiki's Deviant Art page.

OWOT Art[edit | edit source]
Kiki also made art on Our World of Text, where they are known as Meimei.
MHZ[edit | edit source]

Kiki is reportedly a former member of the Man Hating Zone who was kicked out for unknown reasons. Curiously, their appearance on YWOT coincided with a resurgence in MHZ activity.
Any number of the art from ourworldoftext.com/mhz could have been made by Kiki, though it must be noted that the MHZ does have a history of fostering artistic talent. (Specifically, two of Kiki's drawings from YWOT can be found at X:444 Y:444 in the MHZ world.)

By 2024, Yosicat had begun using dotted characters(Ex. parentheses, periods and backticks) in his art. This allowed for less jagged curves and an overall cleaner look for his drawings. Yosicat cites Kiki as his primary inspiration and derived much of his growth from mimicking her artstyle.

Their first contributions were from the Faction Era of Spam Central, during which they created Chenn Industries and the Chennoids.
Later on they built a southern counterpart to Noman's No Tower, which features many instances of original art along the way.
As of 2024 Chenn is known to make occasional pieces of art at Spawn. They are also working on a Blender animation project based on YWOT assets.

Today their creations can still be found in certain parts of the Mainpage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- A user named /~gnat has been backing up ASCII art from Spawn since 2022.
- They are known to periodically paste old art around Spam Central.
- Most ASCII art on YWOT is copied from external websites. Notable collections of text art include asciiart.website, ascii.co.uk, ascii art dictionary, and asciiart.eu, all of which are consisted exclusively of drawings made in the late 90s or early 2000s.
- Art taken from online archives tends to be more polished than original art, and there's also a width limit due to the text editors that ASCII veterans used to make their drawings.
- A signature(usually two or three letters like
jgs
) is also a sign that a drawing was taken from archives. Though sometimes the signature will be erased, and it's not inconceivable that some YWOT artists would want to sign their works in a similar format. - Another thing to note is that most ASCII art archives only collect drawings made from standard keyboard characters, so unicodes like " ̄" or " ´ " are usually indicators of original art.
- There are select archives that include unicodes, but art from these websites tend to be extremely simple(Ex.)
- In general, however, complex ASCII art that contains a mixture of standard and unicode characters are almost always original to YWOT(or one of its sister websites).
- There is a userpage named after Adel Faure, a popular ASCII artist. It is unknown whether the page is owned by the real Adel Faure.
- Similarly there is a page named after Mozz, another ASCII artist.
- A user named Mozz was seen in early 2021 as a part of Acinnabun's coalition. The first piece of ASCII art posted on ascii.mozz.us would be created later that year.
- In the old days of YWOT, Andrew Badr would allow ASCII artists to redesign the box at the center of the Mainpage.
- Some of these designs might have been created by Andrew himself.
