A.A.
A.A.(short for A***** A*****)was one of the first users to discover Your World of Text, having found the site not too long after its release on August 4th, 2009.
He was one of the site's first explorers and traveled the early Mainpage in an era before the current coordinate system. In 2010 he journeyed North and founded Paradise(the precursor to Sky City) at Y:1000. He was also the third person to reach The Nirvana at Y:10,000, which at the time was merely a small sign linking to the /peopleofnirvana subworld.
In addition to this, he was also known to have traveled a few thousand coordinates down the 2010 South Road.
Today, most of A.A.'s messages and contributions can be found in /frontpage/~andrew/3, an archive of the Mainpage from March 2010 to May 2010. His last message was from 2022 when he checked in to revisit /peopleofnirvana.
It's wonderful seeing activity here after so long!
Thank you all for continuing the spirit of exploration
and discovery! YWOT was an amazing new experiment at
the start of the internet/information age, and
it's fantastic to see pieces of it still alive!
I've just finished my master's degree in autonomous vehiclesand will be starting work in the industry soon.
I'm very excited for the prospects.
For anyone new to nirvana, congratulations, you too have been added to this obscure piece of internet history.
So long for now.

Paradise[edit | edit source]
A collaborative city building project started by A.A. at Y:1000. Paradise was known for its stunning beauty and unique layout despite the fact that it was mostly consisted of copypasted ASCII art.
By the time of the 2015 Mainpage, the landmark at Y:1000 was being referred to as "Paradise City" instead of "Paradise." It is unknown whether the two were one and the same as "Paradise City" was griefed before the 2015 Wipe. Today, Y:1000 is home to a much larger settlement known as Sky City.
In order to set the mood for the landmark, A.A. created an official playlist for Paradise. Unfortunately the link to it is now defunct.

History of the Early North Road[edit | edit source]
A.A. revisited the North Road in April 2010 and left a lengthy history of the region at Y:4724.
In the message, A.A. recounts how he created (one of) YWOT's first major vertical trails, which had the peculiar characteristic of running directly through the center. The First Line terminated at Y:-86 to the South and Y:72 to the North(this was in the old coordinate system, in current coordinates the line would have ended around Y:130 to the North.) As much as 40 users traveled up the Line and created one of the site's first cities at the Northern End. Due early YWOT's poor optimization, it was incredibly difficult to reach this point without crashing. As a result this early settlement was given the name of Lag City.
The First Line was stated to have been created on October 5th, 2009 and destroyed on December 20th.
There was a failed attempt to resurrect the Line, with participants including users like:
- RWS(Running With Scissors)
- Fish_eats_bear
- and ArmoredGod.
A few weeks after the destruction of the original Line, an unknown user created a trail of music notes which ran far beyond Y:1000(current coordinates). It was shortly after this that A.A. founded Paradise at Y:1K, assembling the city by hand using art from online archives. The first iteration of Paradise was only seen by three users before its destruction.
Five months later(towards the end of March 2010), A.A. rebuilt Paradise, this time saving it as a document for restoration.
*It is interesting to note that A.A. claims to have been around since July ?9th,? 2009, which shouldn't have been possible as the site was released in August.
*The griefed remains of this message can also be found in the 2015 Archive of the North Road. This means that either it was copied or it had survived up to that point.
